Applewood's residential treatment program provides intensive, multi-faceted therapeutic services for children and adolescents, ages 7 to 18, with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. It resides on the agency’s Jones Campus located at 3518 W. 25th Street in Cleveland, Ohio.
The program specializes in treatment for children with post-traumatic stress and reactive attachment disorders, and adolescents who may have issues with the juvenile justice system; as well as chronic mood, thought, behavior, and/or substance abuse disorders. Alcohol and drug treatment is available for residents with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
It is offered through two distinct units:
Apple Blossom For Girls secure unit for adolescent females, ages 11 to 18;
Orchard For Boys secure unit for adolescent males, ages 11 to 18.
Latency-aged children will be accepted into gender-specific programs on a case-by-case basis. Referrals for placement are made by a variety of agencies from across Ohio and the nation. Referral sources include: parents and/or legal guardians, physicians, public child welfare agencies, community support teams, other providers, juvenile court systems, private insurers, and schools.
